Not far, Riley said as he caught up and took Toby s hand.
Instead of leading him out the back door, he led him onto the main
stage.
The crowd was strangely quiet for the first time since his first
performance when he had danced to a Tim Janus song and silenced
them. It was as if they were waiting for something to happen.
Across the stage the dancers stood in a bunch and in front of them
stood Conor and Sully along with two women, both obviously closely
related to the Muldoon brothers. Riley led him directly to the older
woman.
Mom, this is Toby Smith. Toby, this is our mother, Maureen
Muldoon.
Before Toby could panic at meeting Riley s mother, his man
released him and Maureen stepped in and grabbed him in a tight hug.
From the brothers description, he knew she would not release him
until he hugged her back, so he did.
Welcome to the family, Toby, she said.
Uh, thank you? Toby replied when she finally released him.
Mom, not yet, Riley scolded with a smile.
Toby turned and shot his man a questioning look, but Riley was
not standing over him as he usually did. Instead, he was kneeling
before him, and looking more nervous than Toby had ever seen him
before. In response, his heart began to pound with nerves.
Toby Smith, I love you with all my heart and soul. I know we ve

only been together a little while, but I knew the moment I looked up
and saw you standing there begging for a job that you were the man
for me. Will you do me the honor of marrying me and being my
husband?
Yes, oh yes, Riley, I will. Oh my God, yes, he whispered before
throwing himself into Riley s arms and knocking the man on his ass
as he kissed him.
In case you all missed that, Riley s little sex god said yes,
Conor announced over the loudspeaker. A millisecond later a roar of
approval filled the bar, deafening everyone in the room.
